Fiat has reportedly had to halt production at several of its Italian plants because a strike by truck drivers.


Reuters reported that the strike means Fiat cannot get new cars to showrooms.


The truck drivers are striking to protest rising fuel costs – a protest theme that is becoming common across Europe this summer.


A source told Reuters that Fiat’s plant at Termini Imerese was shut down on Thursday. The plant at Cassino stopped production on Tuesday afternoon and the Melfi site halted on Wednesday, the report said.
