Chinese automaker Chery Auto is starting sales in Italy, with an ICE version of its Omoda 5 crossover SUV, Reuters reports.
The move comes as it weighs up its options to expand its manufacturing capacity and sales in Europe.
The ICE version of the Omoda 5 will be priced from €27,900 ($30,182).
Chery is one of the Chinese automakers impacted by the EU’s recent decision to confirm tariffs on EV imports made in China, with Chery subject to an additional duty of 20.8%.
By the end of 2025, the automaker plans three SUV models each for its Omoda and Jaecoo brands, but will use a mixture of fuel types for different European markets, according to Reuters.
