Mediobanca and Fiat have agreed to postpone the expiry date on a put option that would have the Italian bank sell its stake in Ferrari to the automaker, a financial source told Reuters on Thursday.

The date has been postponed from 30 June 30 September, the anonymous source told Reuters.

“It has been decided to postpone (it)…to give more time to Fiat to find a solution,” the source said.

Mediobanca and Fiat are in talks over the sale of an 11.7% stake in Ferrari, the luxury sports car maker, the news agency noted.
