Chrysler Australia will take over distribution of Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Fiat Professional from independent, Sydney-based Ateco Automotive which also has Citroen, Lotus and Great Wall amongst its brands.

Under the new agreement, the current Fiat and Alfa Romeo dealer group of 17 passenger dealerships and 22 commercial vehicle outlets across the country, will now be controlled by Melbourne-based Chrysler Australia group.

Sales for the Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Fiat Professional brands during 2011 were recorded by the official Vendor Field Analytical and Characterisation Technologies System (VFACTS) at 2,635 vehicles.

Models offered in Australia market include the Alfa Romeo 159, 159 Sportwagon and Giulietta. Fiat models include the 500 and 500 Abarth and Professional (van) nameplates Ducato and Scudo.
