Fiat is to spin off its truck, industrial and maritime, agricultural and construction equipment business from its car and related component division.

The demerger will see Fiat Group Automoibles, Ferrari, Maserati, Magneti, Marelli, Taksid, Comau and FPT Powertrain technologies now become a separate entity from 1 January next year.

Fiat Industrial will now handle the non-car business, while Fiat will be responsible for the remainder, with both divisions operating as independent and separately listed companies with their own management teams and boards of directors.
