A long wheelbase version was Infiniti's first model to be built in China.

The 2016 model year NAFTA range, announced in August 2015, added a two-litre Mercedes-Benz (but Nissan-built) petrol engine option while a 400hp three-litre turbo V6 was also new for 2016. A 300hp version was added two months later. The VR-series engine family replaced the 3.7-litre V6.
