Nevertheless, July was a good month for the market, with economic growth still sluggish at just over 5% in the second quarter. Local demand continues to be driven by low interest rates and important new models that have entered the market over the last couple of years.

This month's motor show saw new compact MPV models enter the market, including the Mitsubishi Xpander and the WulingConfero, which are expected to attract additional buying interest and intensify competition in this all-important market segment.
