PT Astra International booked a net profit of 1.1 trillion rupiah ($US121 million) in the first quarter of 2002 after making a 515 billion loss in Q1, 2001.

Net revenue in the first three months rose by 6% to 7.43 trillion rupiah compared with the first three months of 2001.
