New vehicle sales in Indonesia increased by close to 25% to 86,345 units in October, from 69,127 units a year earlier, according to industry association Gaikindo.
Economic growth in the country remains strong and the most recent market gains came amid growing supply problems as a result of the widespread flooding in Thailand.
Passenger vehicle sales increased by over 20% to 58,520 units, from 48,649 units; while commercial vehicle sales were up by almost 36% to 27,825 units, from 20,478 units.
Cumulative sales in the first 10 months of the year increased 19.8% to 749,199 units, from 625,323 units a year ago.
