Volkswagen has launched the Polo in India as its first small car offering in the country.
According to local media reports, it is selling petrol and diesel versions.
“The Polo has received an overwhelming response from customers when it was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo last month and we are confident that they will love driving it too,” local sales chief Neeraj Garg said.
“India is a key market for our overall strategic growth plans and with launch of the Polo, it affirms our commitment to offer the best quality products to our Indian customers at affordable prices.”
Deliveries of the 1.2-litre, 75 bhp Polo petrol variant will begin March 2010 while the 1.2-litre diesel variant will be available from May 2010.
