On Monday, Romanian minister Iuliu Winkler told Reuters Tata had submitted a letter of intent for automaker but did not disclose the value of the bid or the size of the stake.


The news agency noted that Tata joins General Motors and Ford in showing interest in the car maker which Romanian government officials have said they hoped to sell by June 2007.
