Tata Motors has confirmed it is evaluating cooperation with subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover concerning engine development.
Although insisting there is no joint venture, the Indian manufacturer said it was “exploring” ways to co-operate with JLR.
“It is an exercise, a cooperation to be undertaken,” a Tata Motors spokesman in Mumbai told just-auto. “We don’t know a date to announce – it is an exercise to explore Jaguar development of engines. [There are] no particular models so far.
“We are not ready to disclose any information at this stage.”
The Tata spokesman added the parent company already worked with JLR in a number of different automotive fields.
