The Economic Times of India reports that Skoda Auto India is planning to start its completely knocked-down (CKD) programme in March.
Speaking to ET, Skoda Auto India managing director Mr Imran Hassen said, “We are working towards kicking in our CKD programme in March with the Octavia first, followed by the Laurin & Klement and then the Superb in June.”
According to the report, the company is also planning its volume car, the Fabia, for possible launch by the end of the calendar year, Mr Hassen said.
The company’s CKD programme would also necessitate a “fresh assembly line and a new factory premise, though still in Aurangabad”, Mr Hassen said.
