Renault India aims to double its sales over the next two years.

In 2014, the company sold around 48,000 vehicles in the country. It plans to launch the Lodgy MPV and a small car in 2015.

Renault India CEO and MD Sumit Sawhney said, “India is a strong market for Renault and we have strong presence in the country. We will launch MPV Lodgy by month end or early next month. After that we will also launch sub-INR400,000 (US$6,437) small car. It will be a global car. It is in the developing stage and will be launched after nine months.”

At present, Duster accounts for 80% of the company’s total sales. “Duster has been volume driver for us. We hope the MPV will also be a volume driver with Duster. Right now 80% of our sales are from Duster. We expect this share to come down when we launch Lodgy,” he added.

Sawhney also said the company’s “vision is to achieve over 5% market share in 2016. It is 2% at present”, The Hans India reported.
