Indian auto parts maker Sona Koyo Group plans to set up a ‘greenfield’ project in the US, group chairman Surinder Kapur reportedly told an industry seminar on Friday.

“By 2010, 45% of the revenue must come from overseas. We will probably set up a greenfield operation in the next year or so in North America,” Kapur said, according to Reuters, which noted he did not elaborate.

The group’s companies include Sona Koyo Steerings, India’s largest steering gears maker, the report added.
