Mitsubishi Motors is looking at expanding its collaboration with Hindustan Motors.

The initiative will see the launch of new models including the new Lancer sedan, Outlander crossover and Grandis minivan.

Mitsubishi will possibly source components from Hindustan, too.

Sourcing components from a low cost base like India through partner Hindustan Motors will prove beneficial for Mitsubishi, especially when it is facing problems.

Hindustan Motors already supplies engines and other auto components to Mahindra & Mahindra, GM and Ford in India. With Mitsubishi sourcing components, and HM possibly manufacturing some of them, the Indian partner would be able to use some of its idle capacity and shore up its bottom line.
