Maruti Udyog, the market leading builder and distributor of Suzuki-designed cars in India, today launched Maruti Insurance which will be offered to customers through its dealer network of 254 sales outlets and 333 service workshops across the country.
Maruti has set up two insurance subsidiaries – Maruti Insurance Distributors Services (MIDS) and Maruti Insurance Brokers Limited (MIBL) – which have linked up with two of India’s leading general insurance companies and will act as their licensed corporate agents.
MIDS has partnered with Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company and MIBL will work with National Insurance Company Limited.
Through this tie-up, Maruti Insurance will save customers many of the problems related to post accident repairs and recovery of insurance claims by providing complete support through its dealer network.
Maruti Udyog managing director Jagdish Khattar said: “Customers are looking for insurance products that provide them support, comfort and convenience, more so after their vehicle has met with an accident. Unfortunately, these attributes are missing in the existing market for car insurance and Maruti Insurance will fill this gap.”
