Market leader Maruti Suzuki India sold 108,006 vehicles in India during September, its highest-ever monthly sales following the record of 104,971 set just one month earlier.

The tally included 12,858 units for export and compared with 83,306 sales in September last year.

September was also the fourth time that company’s monthly sales crossed the 100,000 mark and the company passed the half million point in the first six months of the fiscal year ending March 2011.

Maruti Suzuki’s volume in the domestic market grew by 32.9%. In the A2 segment, sales rose 31.35% while A3 segment sales were up 43.2%.

Sales growth in the C segment increased 66.6% over September 2009 while the B segment grew 17.7%.
