Maruti Suzuki‘s upcoming Alto 800 has drawn a strong response in India with orders for 10,000 units expected by the 16 October launch.
Maruti Suzuki India marketing and sales chief Mayank Pareek told PTI: “Despite the price remaining unknown to customers, who have not seen the car fully, we have received 6,500 bookings of the new Alto. At this rate, we are confident that it will cross 10,000 when we launch the car on 16 October.”
The new Alto achieves fuel consumption of 22.74 km/litre which is 15% higher than the outgoing version. Gear shifting is improved and rear passenger leg room increased. A new CNG option will be available.
Brokerage Prabhudas Liladher, citing Maruti Suzuki vendors and component manufacturers, said the automaker plans to produce 800 units daily.
