Honda’s global recall of vehicles of various model lines to fix a potentially faulty power window switch includes 72,115 units of the City sedan in India, despite no local complaints.

Honda Siel Cars India told the Hindustan Times its recall would cover all second-generation City cars made between 2005 and 2007. In January this year, the company had recalled 8,532 units of City made in 2008. “This time we are extending this part replacement exercise we started in January to cover cars manufactured in the 2005-2007 period,” sales and marketing chief Jnaneswar Sen said.

The current third generation City is not affected.

This is the third Honda recall in India this year. The company had recalled close to 58,000 units of the City in February this year to replace ‘lost motion spring’ in the valve train.

Sen said there had been no complaints about City power window switches in India.
