Hindustan Motors (HM) is open to discussions with automakers regarding the use of excess capacity at its Chennai facility.
HM managing director and CEO, Uttam Bose told PTI, “We are open to talks with other automakers as we have substantial capacity at the Chennai plant. After the de-merger, HM will particularly focus on the SUV segment.”
Bose said the 24,000-unit-per-year Chennai plant was making profits, and the Uttarpara facility in West Bengal would break even by March. To ensure this, the company will increase margins and cut costs.
