Ford and Renault have announced appointment of new heads for their businesses in India.
Nigel Harris, vice-president sales and service, Ford Asia Pacific, has been appointed as president of Ford India, effective 1 February. Harris will take over from Joginder Singh, who has been appointed for a new role of director, corporate strategy, Ford Motor Company. Harris will report to David Schoch, president, Ford Asia Pacific and be based at the company’s corporate office in Gurgaon.
Simultaneously, Sumit Sawhney has been appointed by Renault as country chief executive officer and managing director for Renault Group operations in India, effective 1 February. Sawhney will be in charge of the complete operations of Renault in India, and will report to Gilles Normand, who is the chairman, Renault Asia Pacific. Sawhney replaces Marc Nassif, who will take up a global assignment within the company.
