Delphi has expanded its Software Technical Centre located in Bangalore, India.
The expansion triples floor space from 20,000 to 60,000 square feet at the facility located at Bangalore’s International Tech Park, which includes office space and test labs. The expansion will allow Delphi to hire up to another 200 engineers at the centre.
“The amount of embedded software continues to increase on vehicles as cars and trucks become more electronically sophisticated,” said Delphi Delco Electronics Systems president Jeff Owens. “We are very proud of what we have accomplished at the technical centre in Bangalore in just 22 months.”
The Bangalore Technical Center plays a critical role in providing embedded software systems for many of Delphi’s fastest growing product lines such as diesel common rail engine management systems and advanced mobile multimedia systems.
The Bangalore-based centre also supports other Delphi products including petrol powertrain controls, advanced steering and braking and chassis control systems.
The technical centre is slated to become Delphi’s global centre of expertise for the development of web-based tools to automate engineering and business processes. Delphi also has technical centres in Japan, Korea and Singapore in the Asia Pacific region.
