Hinduja Group flagship Ashok Leyland has won two significant orders for the export of buses to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The Sri Lankan contract is with the People Leasing Company (PLC), for 250 fully built, 42 seater Viking buses. This comes on top of a similar order from PLC, which in the last four years has bought 1,300 buses from Ashok Leyland.

Ashok Leyland has also signed a long-term agreement with Bangladesh, Pragoti Industries, for the supply of 300 Stag mini buses in CKD form. This follows the supply of 120 Stag kits so far to Pragoti Industries, an establishment under the Ministry of Industries, Government of Bangladesh. Ashok Leyland is midway through supply of 500 numbers 16-tonner trucks to Pragoti Industries.
