Hyundai Motor Group’s head of vehicle design, Luc Donckerwolke, has resigned from the leading South Korean vehicle manufacturer.

Donckerwolke stepped down from his position as head of the Hyundai Motor Design Center for personal reasons, the automaker confirmed.

Prior to joining Hyundai in November 2015, Donckerwolke had worked on Lamborghini and Bentley design.

He was promoted to head of design for the Hyundai, Kia and Genesis brands in October 2018.

In a statement, Donckerwolke said Hyundai Motor Group’s “audacious and progressive attitude has allowed me to push the boundaries and challenge the status quo.

“I have enjoyed the trust given to me by the group to create a design ‘dream team’ that has defined a DNA for the future of these brands and digitalisation of their design processes.”
