Hyundai Motor's premium car brand, Genesis, passed the 200,000 cumulative global sales mark in October, according to local reports citing industry data.

Three years after its initial launch in November 2015, the brand achieved cumulative sales of 206,882 unit sales at the end of October. This included 555 units in 2015, 58,916 in 2016 and 78,889 in 2017. In the first 10 months of 2018, sales increased 6.1% to 68,522 units.

The best selling Genesis model to date is the original G80, available with 3.3-, 3.8- and five-litre engines, with cumulative sales of 127,283 units worldwide.

The G90 flagship, also with a similar engine range, was launched in September 2016 and has achieved cumulative sales of 52,417 units.

The G70 sports sedan, which comes with a choice of two- and 3.3-litre engines, was launched in September 2017 and has achieved cumulative sales of 27,182 units.

Hyundai Motor said it planned to strengthen the Genesis range next year to help drive sales forward with a full redesign for the G80 and the launch of the new GV80 SUV.
