Huf Group and MH Group have agreed Huf International will acquire all shares in MHG Thailand.
The automotive supplier located in Rayong, Thailand, works in injection moulding and robotic painting, employing around 70 people. Main customers are Ford, Automotive Alliance Thailand; a joint venture between Ford and Mazda, as well as other automotive manufacturers in Thailand.
MH Group has a history of more than 40 years of specialist automotive manufacturing. Following the closure of automobile production in Australia, MHG has diversified into new activities. This led MHG to sell its operation in Thailand and to grow new business beyond automotive.
The Huf Group operates world-wide as an automotive supplier in the area of electronic and mechanical locking systems, driver authorisation systems, door handle and tailgate systems, tyre pressure monitoring systems, telematics and digital access systems.
In 2016, the Huf Group had a turnover of around EUR1.4bn, (US$1.7bn). Huf International is the holding company for the worldwide network of subsidiaries. Some 7,800 people are employed with Huf in 23 companies in Germany, the US, Mexico, Brazil, the UK, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Romania, China, India, Japan and Korea.
MHG Thailand will be renamed Huf Thailand and will play a role in expanding the business of the Huf Group in Southeast Asia. The current product scope already covers painted door handles – one of Huf’s traditional key products.
