Honda car and truck production worldwide rose 11.3% year on year to a January record 404,259, the automaker announced.
Most of the rise was outside the home country with output up 13% to 342,449, also a January record.
Japanese production rose 2.8% to 61,810 units.
China saw the biggest rise – 57.3% to 95,798 while US output dipped 1.2% to 105,838.
Slumping domestic sales – off 19.5% to 51,207 – were offset by a 321.3% increase in exports to 10,224 units, reported the week Honda Motor said it would export more cars from Japan.
This was the seventh consecutive month of increased exports.
