Honda Motor set a global production record of 4,543,838 vehicles in calendar 2015, up 0.7% year on year.
Though output in Japan fell 23.8% to 730,493 cars, production elsewhere rose 7.2% to 3,813,345.
North American output was up 3.1% to 1,862,491 (up 0.1% to 1,269,724 in the US) and Europe dipped 0.9% to 118,897.
The big gain was in Asia, up 12% to 1,660,561 with Chinese volume up 12.2% to 960,913.
Production in other minor markets rose 17.5% to 171,396.
