The changes are part of Honda’s broader strategy to achieve carbon neutrality for all products and corporate activities by 2050.

Honda will reorganise its automobile operations by integrating the Automobile Business Strategy Unit and the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) Business Development Unit, currently part of Electrification Business Development Operations, into its broader Automobile Operations.

This move is intended to improve business planning, digital services, and the customer experience, aligning these functions more closely with overall operations, the company said.

Additionally, Honda will create a new unit, Automobile Development Operations, which will bring together electric vehicle (EV) development from Electrification Business Development Operations and internal combustion engine (ICE) development from Automobile Operations.

In its motorcycle and power products division, Honda will merge the Motorcycle and Power Products Electrification Business Development Unit with its Motorcycle and Power Products Operations.

Recently, Nikkei Asia reported that Honda Motor plans to introduce a small electric vehicle, potentially as early as 2026, with a price tag below $30,000 in North America.
