Honda Cars India (HCIL) has begun the second phase of expansion at its spare parts warehouse in Doddaballapura, near Bengaluru, Karnataka, with an investment of Rs4.50bn ($46.9m).
The added capacity is aimed at bolstering storage and distribution capabilities at the site, “improving operational efficiency and enabling faster availability” for genuine parts moving through Honda’s dealer network.

Spanning approximately 80,000m², the expansion is designed to support Honda’s four-wheeler, two-wheeler and power products businesses nationwide.
The facility’s first phase, spread across 60,000m², became operational in June 2025.
Once the second phase is complete, the warehouse will span 140,000m² in total, featuring advanced warehousing systems, “energy-efficient” elements and infrastructure designed to accommodate future growth.
According to HCIL, the investment will support the company’s growing footprint in India while creating employment opportunities in Karnataka.
“The Doddaballapura facility, strategically located within North Bengaluru’s growing industrial and logistics corridor, with good access to major highways, rail connectivity and international airport, is an important hub within Honda’s integrated spare parts supply chain in India”, the company added.
Although Honda Cars India manages the site, it acts as a central hub for parts distribution across Honda Cars India, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India and Honda India Power Products.
Uno Minda Infra is handling development of the second phase.
HCIL president and CEO Takashi Nakajima said: “The Phase II expansion of our Bengaluru warehouse reflects Honda’s continued commitment to strengthening our infrastructure in India and supporting the growing needs of our customers.”
This expansion follows a series of other developments for Honda in the country.
In June, the Competition Commission of India approved Honda Motor’s plan to raise its stake in automotive parts maker Astemo by an additional 21%, acquiring the shares from Hitachi.
Astemo was formed in January 2021 through the merger of Hitachi Automotive Systems with three Honda group firms – Keihin Corporation, Showa Corporation and Nissin Kogyo.
In May, Honda Motor set up a new subsidiary in India, Honda Digital Innovation India (HDII), to bring together and grow its digital services across the country’s automotive sector.
