GWM and Uzbekistan’s ADM automobile group have signed an agreement to further develop their automobile business.
A GWM delegation recently visited the ADM assembly plant in Jizzakh.
GWM said it would add production at the existing factory with capacity given only as a vague “tens of thousands Havals by 2024”.
The factory produces vehicles from SKD and CKD kits with support from the Uzbek government.
A “full process automobile production complex” and associated local parts “industry cluster” was said to be under construction.
GWM said Uzbekistan was the second largest automotive market in Eurasia and a successful example of the transition from a planned to market economy.
