Microfiltration specialist GVS has agreed to acquire Kuss Filtration from private equity firm Industrial Opportunity Partners.  

The combined suppliers plan to "maximise penetration in the automotive, microfiltration markets", GVS said in a statement.

Their skilled management team, product portfolio, and significant sales position will give GVS's automotive division clear leadership in the microfiltration market."

After the combination, GVS will operate from 26 locations in 22 countries with 2,300 employees and serve the on-and off highway commercial vehicle market as well as other non-auto sectors.  

Founded in 1979, GVS has 11 factories in Italy, United Kingdom, Brazil, China, Romania, United States, and sales offices in 22 countries.

Kuss Filtration, founded in 1949, produces fuel, oil, lubrication and urea filters, engine air intake, cabin air and emission filters for light vehicles and on-and off highway commercial vehicles plus products for other markets. Based in Findlay, Ohio, its has four plants in the US, Brazil and China, and sales offices in France and Switzerland.
