Grupo Antolin has opened a new plant in Wuhan, China to manufacture headliners and door panels for Renault, PSA, Nissan and Infiniti, as well as Honda in a joint venture with Dongfeng Visteon.
Both parties have invested more than EUR11m (US$13.2m), which will create a 125 positions by year-end
“We would like to believe our customer [s] recognise our passion for quality and innovation,” said Grupo Antolin chairman, Ernesto Antolin. “This allows us to produce with the same level of quality in any of our 161 factories in 26 countries around the world.
“Although you can think producing overheads and door panels [is] quite easy, let me tell you it isn’t.
“Take headliner as example: deliver 4,000 headliners every day with a high quality standard is really challenging and it’s only possible for a fistful of high-tech companies.”
In 2003, Grupo Antolin established a representative office in Shanghai and two years later, set up a plant in the same city to produce headliners for Ford and SVW.
