Grupo Antolin has unveiled consolidated sales of EUR5.2bn (US$5.6bn) for 2016, a 50% rise compared to the previous year and taking into account the first full year after consolidating Magna Interiors, acquired in August, 2015.
EBITDA for Grupo Antolin in 2016 stood at EUR521m, an increase of 34%, while EBIT was EUR339m, 27% higher.
“Last year was the first full year in which we fully reaped the benefits of the acquisition of Magna Interiors with some very positive results,” said Grupo Antolin chairman, Ernesto Antolin.
“During 2016 we also consolidated as a platform of growth, innovation and leadership in the manufacture of car interiors. Last year we were present in 42 out of 154 launches that took place worldwide, almost one in three, which puts Grupo Antolin as an essential supplier as car interiors for global manufacturers.”
Grupo Antolin also plans to invest more than EUR380m, 48% more compared to 2016.
Grupo Antolin will invest around EUR100m in one of its key markets, the US. Much of this investment will go to a new factory in Michigan, more than EUR61m, where Grupo Antolin will expect the biggest order in its history and in which estimated production will surpass 400,000 vehicles per year.
Other investment in the US will be a new factory in Alabama.
Grupo Antolin will also focus its efforts on other key markets such as China, with new facilities for instrument dashes and will strengthen its commercial presence in the Czech Republic to meet demand in the region.
