ZF Friedrichshafen has declined to comment on claims by India’s Force Motors that it would be entitled to EUR8m in compensation for cutting short a licensing deal with the German components specialist.

Force had said on Tuesday it had agreed to reduce the term of a license granted by ZF to make gear boxes in India.

The Indian firm would be entitled to the compensation for cutting short the license term, Force Motors said in a statement, which did not give other details.

Asked to give their side of the story, ZF said it did not wish to comment at present.
