Volkswagen said on Monday it has yet to make final plans regarding the opening of a production plant in Russia, the Associated Press (AP) reported.
The company told AP it was still examining its options in the country after German auto industry weekly Automobilwoche reported on Monday that the Wolfsburg-based car maker, Europe’s biggest, wanted to build an assembly plant near Moscow by 2007.
The Associated Press noted that VW has made no secret of its desire to have a plant in Russia, in part to take advantage of the market there, but postponed any decision earlier this year.
