Volkswagen is recalling 44,000 of its Touran models worldwide because of a clutch problem that potentially could lead to breakdown.

In a statement cited by Dow Jones, it said affected models are Tourans with the 2.0 TDI engine and six-speed gearbox, produced in 2004 and 2005. It didn’t disclose the cost of the recall.
