Volkswagen has announced that its brand sales increased 10.3% globally in November. A total of 324,000 vehicles were delivered to customers.

Between January and November the Volkswagen brand sold .3.37m vehicles, an increase of 8.8% over 2006.

Chairman Martin Winterkorn said that, after eleven months, Volkswagen has delivered almost as many vehicles as it did during the whole of 2006.

In a statement Volkswagen said that next year will see further major new model launches that should allow further growth. The Tiguan has already gone on sale in some markets, but will be in its first full year of sales in 2008. The Passat Coupe and the new Scirocco will be launched during the year, and the BlueMotion family of vehicles will be increased from the current seven to 10 models by next spring.

Volkswagen’s fastest growing market this year is Brazil, with sales up 34.7% to 448,000 vehicles between January and November. Volkswagen’s largest market, China, increased 28% to 726,000 vehicles.

The growth in sales comes despite the fact that Volkswagen lost market share in Europe in November. Volkswagen sales were down 7.8% to 136,614 cars during the month.
