Volkswagen wants to increase production in Wolfsburg by more than 100,000 cars in 2008.
Although not all the detail could be determined, according to the Wolfsburger Allgemeiner Zeitung, Golf Plus output will increased 30,000 units to 434,000.
During the summer there was speculation that Volkswagen would switch production of right hand drive Golfs for Asia-Pacific markets from South Africa to Wolfsburg, to better utilise capacity at the German plant. VW has already shifted Golf production from Brussels to Germany.
Part of the 2006 wage agreement was for a new model to be produced in Wolfsburg. According to dpa-afx, this could be the RHD Golfs currently produced in South Africa.
