Following last year’s launch of redesigned Corsa three and five-door hatchback passenger models, General Motors Europe is now introducing the updated three-door commercial Corsavan version.
Individual market specification varies in detail across the continent. Here in the UK, there is a single trim level with either an 80PS 1.2-litre ‘Twinport’ petrol engine, or a 75PS 1.3-litre CDTi diesel. Prices start at GBP9,125 excluding VAT (reflecting the fact these are commercial vehicles on which qualifying businesses can reclaim the tax).
Standard equipment on all models includes radio/CD player, body-coloured bumpers, side protection mouldings, central locking with deadlocks, electric door mirrors, 14-inch wheeltrims and tinted tailgate glass. Options include air conditioning, ESP and rear park assist.
GME said the new Corsavan is more versatile than its predecessor with a full-length flat load floor and a taller, wider tailgate to make it more practical while the payload is up 85kg to 550kg. A four-piece folding load cover is a £75 option that GMW claims “gives it significant security advantages over some of its rivals”.
GM Europe also builds a commercial variant of the larger Astra hatchback called the Astravan.
