BMW has announced a new diesel version of its X3 SUV.
The two-litre four cylinder engine, already used in the 3-series, produces 150bhp at 4,000rpm and 330Nm (243lb-ft) of torque at 2,000rpm and drives through a standard six-speed manual gearbox.
Accelerating from standstill, 62mph (100km/h) is reached in 10.2 seconds while top speed is 123mph. The X3 2.0d gets 39.2mpg on the EU combined cycle and CO2 emissions are 191g/km.
All UK-spec X3 2.0d models have 17″ alloy wheels, automatic air conditioning, CD player, roof rails, an alarm and two-stage brake lights. SE models add a front centre armrest, front fog lamps, multifunction steering wheel with cruise control, on-board computer and parking sensors.
A six-cylinder three-litre diesel engine joins the range next year.
