Toyota Motor Europe (TME) has announced management changes.


Effective from the beginning of April, Massimo Nordio, managing director and COO of Toyota Motor Italia will be vice-president, after sales, at TME. The 49-year-old joined Toyota’s Italian operations in 1997 as commercial director and was promoted to vice-president in 2001 and managing director in 2005.


Markus Schrick, vice-president of Toyota Deutschland, will become managing director and COO of Toyota Motor Italia. Schrick, 47, joined Toyota’s German operations as MD in 2003 and was later promoted to vice-president, responsible for Toyota and Lexus operations in Germany. 


Alain Uyttenhoven, meanwhile, who is currently vice-president, after sales, for TME, will be the new vice-president of Toyota Motor Deutschland. Uyttenhoven, 46, joined TME in 2004 as customer services director. He was promoted to vice-president, after sales, in 2005.


Italy and Germany are two of Toyota’s top four largest markets in Europe, with combined sales of 278,227 vehicles in 2007.
