Suzuki is planning a new upper-medium segment car. A preliminary concept of the model will be unveiled at the Frankfurt show in September, reported Automotive New Europe (ANE).
Suzuki wants the car to compete against such cars as the Ford Mondeo. Company sources told ANE that the new car’s production version will be available as a sedan, hatchback and station wagon and the vehicle will be built in high volumes.
Suzuki Europe spokesman Axel Seegers declined to confirm these claims. Suzuki currently offers cars in the small, lower-medium and SUV segments in Europe. The new vehicle will be sold in Europe and North America.
Suzuki currently sells a GM-Daewoo-built mid-sized model called the Forenza in sedan and wagon forms in the US.
