New car registrations rose 2-3% in Germany in February, the president of the country’s VDA auto association, Bernd Gottschalk, told Reuters on Wednesday at the Geneva motor show.

The rise over the first two months of the year was 6-7%, following a gain of almost 11% in January, the report added.

If the pick-up continues, the VDA may raise its full-year forecast for German new car registrations to 3.4m from 3.35m, Gottschalk told the news agency. The figure was 3.34m last year.
