Porsche said on Friday it would resume 911 production on Monday following a paint shop fire at the main factory in Zuffenhausen.
The fire badly damaged a PVC fusion oven but the cost of “several hundred thousand euros is largely covered by insurance”, the automaker said. The gas escape was due to a technical defect but the other ovens are in perfect working order and fully functional.
Porsche added it would make up production of 800 vehicles lost this week during the year.
