Porsche has confirmed rumours that a Spyder body style will be added to the Boxster range later this year, and has also announced the impending launch of a Macan GTS.

Both cars have been named in the Volkswagen Group’s annual report as vehicles that it will launch worldwide during the remainder of 2015.

While no other details of the cars were noted, there has been a Boxster Spyder before. This was was part of the previous generation range and had a manual roof, slightly more power and returned suspension, with its weight loss claimed to be 80kg. As the latest Boxster is due for a mid-life facelift in 2015, the Spyder should be launched as part of that range.

The Macan GTS will join a range that now consists of the Macan, S, S Diesel and Turbo. Porsche is also expected to add the Macan Diesel either later this year or in 2016. This should have a four-cylinder engine to complement the V6-powered S Diesel. A new range topper, the Turbo S, is also expected to be added later in the Macan’s lifecycle.
