Opel has recalled 1,680 Astras in Germany with a possible problem on the front axle, according to the motoring magazine Auto Motor und Sport.
A steering bearing may not be correctly fastened, causing the steering wheel to vibrate. In the worst case scenario, the steering system could even break off from its mounting.
The problem affects models built between 2004 and 2005.
