General Motors has added the European Opel GT Roadster to the 1.7m unit recall of cars to replace a faulty ignition switch.
An Opel spokesman told Reuters the 2007 model, which was based on the same platform as the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky, was also affected, adding around 2,300 more vehicles to the recall.
The model, made only with left hand drive (so there are no Vauxhall versions) was sold in Europe and Russia.
A spokesman told Automotive News Europe there had been no accidents or injuries involving the GT affected by the recall.
