Norma Group says it is able to supply its customers until mid-May “at least” as it addresses the global shortage of the Nylon 12 resin.

The Group, which manufactures joining technology to around 10,000 customers including automotive, aerospace and train companies, is evaluating options following the fatal explosion at major Nylon 12 producer, Evonik.

“We are able to deliver to our customers until mid-May at least,” a Norma Group spokeswoman told just-auto from Germany. “We are still investigating alternative options.

“Our customers are principally favourably disposed to other options because PA 12 can be substituted by other raw materials. We talk to our clients on a bi-lateral basis every day – it could be we are not really affected.”
